Week of January 10

Weather permitting, here's where we are as we finish the second quarter.

Periods 1 & 2: English 12
Monday, Jan. 10--Distribute info for the midterm exam; finish test on A Streetcar Named Desire (which we started on Friday); when you are finished, you will continue composing the first draft of your essay for A Streetcar Named Desire in the Media Center
Tuesday & Wednesday, Jan. 11 & 12--We are in the Media Center composing the first draft for the essay on A Streetcar Named Desire--all drafts are due by the end of class on Wednesday.
Thursday, Jan. 13--Review grammar rules for midterm exam; reflection for second quarter for the Senior Writing Project
Friday, Jan. 14--Begin introducing The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien

Period 4A: 11 AP G/T
Tuesday, Jan. 11--Introduce Vocab. Unit 5; take the County Assessment
Thursday, Jan. 13--Quiz on Vocab. Unit 5; info will be distributed for The Awakening presentation and essay (depending on which option you choose)

Period 4B: Humanities III
Monday, Jan. 10--Guidance visit for 15 mins. re: PSAT scores; materials for midterm exam will be distributed; post-reading quiz on Huckleberry Finn
Wednesday, Jan. 12--Introduce Vocab. 5; info will be distributed for The Awakening presentation and essay (depending on which option you choose); take the County Assessment
Friday, Jan. 14--Quiz on Vocab. 5; present the background info for The Awakening (started on Tuesday, Jan. 4 in class)

Period 5: 11 Honors
Monday, Jan. 10--Intro paragraph for Huck Finn essay is due (typed and double-spaced); finish Huck Finn post-reading quiz, if necessary
Tuesday, Jan, 11--Introduce Vocab. Unit 6
Wednesday, Jan. 12--County Assessment
Thursday, Jan. 13--completed draft of Huck Finn essay is due for peer editing (typed and double-spaced);
Friday, Jan. 14--quiz on Vocab. Unit 6
